AB029. The regulatory effects of androgen in wound healing of the prostatic urethra after thulium laser resection of the prostate

چکیده
Urethral stricture is still a challenging field in urology. Despite the varied procedures to treat this disease at present, no one existed approach can be clearly stated to be superior over another. Among the procedures, simple dilation and direct vision internal urethrotomy are more commonly suggested only for short urethral stricture (<1 cm, soft and no previous intervention). Currently, urethroplasty using buccal mucosa or penile skin are the most widely adapted techniques in clinic and have met great success. But some complications such as donor site morbidity still remains problems to be solved. Tissue engineering technique is considered as a promising solution for urethral reconstruction, but still need further investigation, and the stem cell therapy also mandates further work in the future.

Histological analysis was then carried out to study the re-epithelialization of the prostatic urethra in each group; (II) immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence techniques were used to determine the basal cell pro...
متن کاملRe-epithelialization resulted from prostate basal cells in canine prostatic urethra may represent the ideal healing method after two-micron laser resection of the prostate
The purpose of this study is to characterize the re-epithelialization of wound healing in canine prostatic urethra and to evaluate the effect of this re-epithelialization way after two-micron laser resection of the prostate (TmLRP). TmLRP and partial bladder neck mucosa were performed in 15 healthy adult male crossbred canines. Wound specimens were harvested at 3 days, and 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks ...
متن کاملMacrophages are targets of retinoic acid signaling during the wound-healing process after thulium laser resection of the prostate
BACKGROUND The wound-healing process is very important for reducing complications after thulium laser resection of the prostate (TmLRP). The retinoic acid (RA) signaling pathway has been well studied in the wound-healing process of the skin and other organs. The goals of this study were to identify the role of RA signaling in the repair of the prostate after TmLRP and to investigate the molecul...
متن کاملRe-epithelialization of the prostatic urethra after two-micron laser resection of the prostate
prostatic urethra after transurethral two-micron laser resection of the prostate (TmLRP) in a canine model by focusing on the healing process, epithelial origin of the prostatic urethra, and the role of basal-cell-layer-related stem cells. Thirty adult cross-breed male dogs (age 5–7 years; weight 18–22 kg) were established a model of TmLRP using the RevoLixTM 2-μm laser device (the wavelength 2...
متن کاملTwo-micron (thulium) laser resection of the prostate-tangerine technique: a new method for BPH treatment.
Two-micron (thulium) laser resection of the prostate-tangerine technique (TmLRP-TT) is a transurethral procedure that uses a thulium laser fiber to dissect whole prostatic lobes off the surgical capsule, similar to peeling a tangerine. We recently reported the primary results. Here we introduce this procedure in detail. A 70-W, 2-microm (thulium) laser was used in continuous-wave mode. We joine...
